Love All

I have been retired for a little while now, but it wasn’t that long ago that at my workplace political debates were heard everywhere. Conversations about our political favorites became intense, heated and caused so much division among us that we had to create the “neutral zone” just to get any work done. It wasn’t much different at other social gatherings either. I mean this is normal, right? I’ve heard it all my life, every four years. Then, after the elections, we would come together with the winners jubilant and the losers congratulating the winners working together for a better world.
But not this time.
As we look forward to Jan. 20 both winners and losers are as quiet as a mouse, intimidated with the feeling of “what just happened?” This time is different, unlike anything ever witnessed before. Something is not right, there is a great Divide!
In search for answers, many are looking to right the wrong and have become extremely vulnerable to the conspiracies of some. Even I, am wondering who to follow. And it was at this juncture that I was reminded, I have given my life to Jesus Christ, I follow Him. So I have opened the Scriptures with a renewed desire to follow the One in control, the One who has a plan, the One who loves us all. It is here that you will find the answers.
“Blessed are those that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”
“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”
“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”
“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate
you, and pray for them that despitefully use you, and persecute you;
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in Heaven, for he maketh his sun to rise
on the evil and on the good, and sendth rain on the just and on the unjust.”
“Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in Heaven: ...”
These are verses from the sermon on the mount, Matthew chapter 5. They are just a few, and not in order. I encourage you to read them all, because many of us believe it is our responsibility to right the wrong, or to cheer for others to right the wrong, but this will only lead to further division and destroy our testimony.
Don’t misunderstand my motives, I hate evil, I get frustrated, I get mad, and wish I could “right the wrong.” If I were God.....!?!#?! Good thing I’m not. You see, God has the ability to hate the evil while loving the evil doer. God’s heart is broken desiring that none should perish. God does not rejoice in the death of sinners, for which I am one. I am not God, but I want to be called... “His child.”
So don’t be surprised about the times in which we live, God told us so. Don’t feel defeated and at loss, for we have already won. Instead, rejoice with me being consumed with His Peace that far exceeds our understanding, and be of good cheer, for He has overcome the world. Think on these things. We are privileged to be living in the time that the saints of old looked forward to. When the world darkens, we are to shine brighter. How do we do that??
“They will know... by our Love!”
Love you all.
